Wifey Video Shoot

Track 5 on the Sanct EP is called Wifey.

Produced by Reggie Coby (LOEGz/Dred Skott), the Wifey joint features…
D-Madness (bass), Carter Arrington (guitar) and Jon Keyzz (keys, duh).

We wrapped a three-camera video shoot for it Saturday, July 3rd.

We found some under-utilized spots in the Laguna Beach area, specifically Wood Cove and Table Rock. Once the energy and waves started flowing, it all went by in a flash.

D-Madness and Brannen Temple

These guys are bad, though. It’s such an honor and educational experience to know them, hear them, talk to them and play with them. The above photo is from the Music Lab on Oltorf in Austin, TX, on Sunday, January 16, 2011.

A week prior, I caught them playing a jazz set in downtown Fort Worth with a mind-blowing organist named Bobby Sparks and the homie Philippe Vieux on flute.

LYRICS::Fire in the Firmament

Today we’re talmbot “Fire In the Firmament”, the song.

Not sleeping giant producer, singer and songwriter Dertrick “Fire” Winn. Not Dylan Dylan Dylan who, by the way, spits hot fiyah! Not Grammy nominated gospel rapper Flame. And last but not least… not Atlanta rapper and shooting victim (and son of the lady who manages Gucci, Nicki and OJ) Wocka Flocka Flame. Oh, let’s do it!

“Fire in the Firmament” is a joint I’ll share with you awfully soon. This particular Fire was envisioned by Dallas-area producer Smooth Sense and features three kings: Chucky Sly, HeadKrack and I.

I believe it to be divinely inspired. My wife says it sounds like a Jazz Liberators song. In the hands of God and/or an alchemist, a lil’ flame can make gold.
